Wood Mine

Part of Little Britain township, 1864

This property had multiple owners due through inheritence. In 1826 Isaac Tyson purchased 8/10ths of the 57 acre property. In 1835 he purchased a further 1/10. It is not clear who owned the last 1/10.

The mines were operated until about 1880. Attempts were made to reopen them during the World Wars.
