Taking Out Flint

J. C. McDonald is engaged in taking out flint rock from a deposit on his farm in East Nottingham and shipping it to Trenton potteries. The flint is imbedded in the earth and sometimes pinches out, requiring the removal of much earth to again contact it. W. F. McHenry, employed there, was in the Press office the past week and told us some of the flint carries a variety of beautiful shades and makes a handsome collection. He showed a piece of mineral which Prof. J. H. Kerr says is carbonized wood. It is said to be valuable and is occasionally found in the flint deposits.
