Collum Chromite Placer


Location: East Nottingham township near Barrens Road and Jordan Creek(location uncertain).


The Collum tract is said to have been worked by E. M. Bye, and Stanley Grier's farm, adjoining it on the west, by the Tyson Mining Company. The two were prospected in 1918 by F. L. Garrison, whose work indicated the possible existence of several thousand tons of concentrate contain over 40 percent Cr2O3(Pearre and Heyl).
