CORNER-STONE LAID

Chapel to Be Erected in Memory of Mrs. J. Dundas Lippincott.

The laying of the cornerstone at Lincoln Institution, of the Memorial Chapel to Mrs. J. Dundas Lippincott, who devoted her life to the work of the institution, took place yesterday at the Indian Home, Wayne. After the processional hymn, the services were opened by responsive Scriptural reading followed by prayer. The list of deposits made in the cornerstone was read by the chaplain and an address was made by Rev. Fleming James, D.D., of the Philadelphia Divinity School; John T. Bunting assistant rector of the church of the Holy Apostle, made the closing address. The corner-stone was then formally laid by Mrs.Mary McHenry Cox and set by a Sioux Indian boy named James Chub. The trowel used was the silver one which was used by General Meade in laying the corner-stone of the Educational Home for Boys, June 15, 1872. The services were concluded by prayer.
