John. Rowland purchased the Great Valley Mill in 1755 and held it until his death in 1792 or 3. The property was then split between his sons William and Thomas Rowland. William Rowland inherited the house while Thomas inherited the mill.

The Glass Tax return gives the size of this Stone House as 30’ x 20’ on 2 floors with 2 windows of 15 panes, 7 windows of 12 panes, 4 windows of 8 panes, and 3 windows of 4 panes. There was also a stone barn 48’ x 24’.

In addition there was a one story log tenant house 21’ x 21’ with 1 window of 6 panes, and 1 window of 9 panes.
