Acker Farm
From Futhey & Cope, History of Chester County, 1881.


Thomas David acquired a tract of 200 acres in 1708. The property stayed in the David/Davis family until the early 1770s when John Cloyd acquired it. John Munday owned the property in 1798. Conrad Acker acquired the tract around 1820 and his son, Samuel inherited the property in 1837.

The house has been demolished.

The Glass Tax returns list the following buildings: a Stone House 25’ x 18’, on 2 floors with 3 windows of 12 panes; and 1 of 8 panes. Additionally a Stone Spring House 12’ x 10’; a Stone Hog House 10’ x 8’; a Stone Barn 36’ x 18’; and a Stone Stable 24’ x 18’.
